The story

What the customer wanted, and what we did.

Better foar Letter is a food cooperative from Menaam. Over 35 farmers, growers and makers from the Waadhoeke region sell their products through a single joint online shop. Members order online and pick up their groceries weekly at the neighborhood market. The old system had been cobbled together over the years and cost the volunteers a lot of manual work. We built a custom WordPress plugin to manage the entire process in one environment.

Customers search and filter by product group, feature, and supplier, save favorites, and only see an order deadline when the weekly sales are open. They pay via Mollie and receive a neat confirmation by email. Each supplier has their own account to keep track of products and inventory.

Behind the scenes, the management monitors sales and orders in a dashboard with graphs, prints the packing slips for the neighborhood market, and with a single click creates a bank file to pay all the suppliers. The supplier receives the full product price, and the management and payment costs are transparently included.

With the transition, we transferred over more than 800 products, 37 suppliers and 245 customers from the old system. Klaas and Frans from Better for Letter received a manual for customers, suppliers and administrators. This is how we like to build software that does exactly what an organization needs, without unnecessary bells and whistles.
