Although it may not mean much to you, your website was built using PHP as the base language. The specific version of PHP used on older websites (roughly built/realised up to 2017) is PHP version 5.
We are still working on PHP technology every day, as are the majority of website developers worldwide. However, we are currently at version 8.3, which is faster and more secure, as well as receiving support and improvements.
Version 5, originating in 2004, enjoyed active support until December 2018. Unfortunately, older websites were not updated to this newer version because the underlying technology did not allow it.
However, it is possible to convert the site to this new PHP version. In practice, this usually means switching to a WordPress solution, as it is easier to use, faster and, above all, more secure.
So realise that the end is in sight. Impression will continue to host PHP 5 for a while yet. Incidentally, we are one of the few parties still doing this. We feel we have to do this to maximise customer investment.
Want to switch?
This is of course possible at any time. We can draw up a suitable offer for a migration so that you can make the switch without any problems. We are, of course, open to more information.
